GIVENCHY جيفنشي

The Givenchy perfume logo relies on the luxury house's core visual identity, consisting of two main design elements: • The Wordmark: A clean, all-caps, bold sans-serif font featuring generous letter spacing. For the fragrance division—Parfums Givenchy—this main wordmark is often paired with the smaller word "Parfums" positioned directly above it. • The 4G Emblem: A distinct square emblem made of four mirrored "G"s that resemble Celtic jewelry. Created by founder Hubert de Givenchy, this logo is frequently stamped on perfume

The Story & Audrey Hepburn Connection

When Hubert de Givenchy founded the fragrance branch, he drew heavy inspiration from Christian Dior’s business model. His very first fragrance creation, L'Interdit, was formulated specifically for his close friend and ultimate muse, Audrey Hepburn.

In 1958, Givenchy made advertising history by making Hepburn the official face of the campaign. This marked the first time a movie star fronted a perfume advertisement, setting the standard for the modern fragrance industry. Hepburn famously wore the scent exclusively for a full year before it was released to the public.

Evolution and LVMH Acquisition

Following the massive success of their early feminine scents and the release of their first men's fragrances—Monsieur de Givenchy and Vétiver in 1959—the brand opened a dedicated production facility in Beauvais, France.

In 1987, Parfums Givenchy was acquired by the multi-national luxury conglomerate LVMH. Hubert de Givenchy retired a few years later in 1995, but the house maintained its momentum by consistently launching breakout modern scents alongside its timeless classics.
